Casting with Plaster
West Nottingham Academy- Middle School Art Event
Come learn to make an exact replica of your hand which you can then paint. Artist Mitch Martinez wants to show you how to make a mold of your own hand and cast it in plaster using modern materials. This will be an original piece of art that will be yours to take home after the workshop! You will get a chance to visit Mitch Martinez's art studio and the gallery with his artwork on the beautiful campus at West Nottingham Academy. Lunch will also be provided in the Academy's Brown Dining Hall! The event is for current middle school students in grades 6th-8th. Registration is required: www.wna.org/artworkshop
The event will be held in the Art Studio located in Magraw Hall. Mitchel Martinez is a 201 MFA graduate of New York Art Academy. he is currently working at West Nottingham Academy as part of the Eric Fischl '66 Artist-in-Residence Teaching Program.
