"Reflections on Alice and Lewis Carroll" Fall meeting of the Lewis Carroll Society of North America Talks and a display of materials connected to the author of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland from the University of Delaware Library collection Saturday, October 28, 2017 10:00 am to 5:00 pm University of Delaware Library Newark, DE Free and open to the public, this event features multiple speakers on a variety of subjects related to Lewis Carroll. Talks will take place in the Class of 1941 Lecture Room in the Morris Library. A reception will follow immediately after in Memorial Hall, a short walk from the library. Speakers and topics include: - Dana Richards, Professor of Computer Science, George Mason University           "Martin Gardner: Behind the Looking-Glass" - Victor Fet, Professor of Biology, Marshall University           "Old Russian and New Siberian Wonderlands" - Edna Ronnals Rauck, early education advocate and historian           "Glorious Nonsense: Not Only Lewis Carroll, But Also Gertrude Stein" - Sarah Boxer, critic and writer           "Alice: What's in a Name?" - August A. Imholtz, Jr., collector and past-president of the Lewis Carroll Society of North America           "His Master's Voice and Alice: Eldridge Johnson's Adventure with Lewis Carroll's Alice Manuscript" - Mark Samuels Lasner, Senior Research Fellow, University of Delaware Library           "I Am Not a Carroll Collector" The full schedule of talks and events may be viewed here.   Order lunch ($30) which is provided for registered attendees of the event.
