Moongazing Event Moved to Monday

Delmarva Stargazers astronomer Jerry Truitt will be at Chesapeake City Branch Library for a moon gazing program Monday, April 27, at 6 p.m. Enjoy the evening outside, exploring the sights of outer space, and using telescopes provided by the Delmarva Stargazers. Refreshments will be provided, and kids get a craft.

Originally scheduled for April 20, the event has been moved, so you can still get out and enjoy this. All ages are welcome. For more information, call 410-996-1134.

Introduction to Computers, 10 AM at Elkton Central Library. A ninety minute course. The first part of the class focuses upon the basic components and operation of a computer. The second part works on learning in-depth mouse techniques, using a mouse tutorial. No prerequisite.

Genealogy Detectives, 1 PM at Perryville Branch. An informal meeting with others tracing their family history. 

Let the Drums Speak!: An Afternoon with Bernard Purdie, 1 PM at Elkton Central Library. A concert and book signing with the legendary drummer and Elkton native. Bernard "Pretty" Purdie is known as the world's most recorded drummer.

Mother Sauces of Classical Cuisine, 6 PM at North East Branch. A two-part series that provides instructional demonstration on creating the mother sauces of French cuisine. Join Chef Carter in learning how to incorporate these sauces into everyday cooking.

Introduction to Yahoo Email, 1:30 PM at North East Branch. This ninety minute class provides a basic introduction to how email works. Topics include sending, receiving, and attachments. The class also includes basic email safety. That class concludes with help setting up an email address for interested patrons. 

Snap Circuits, 3:45 PM at Rising Sun Branch. Create "Snap Circuit" projects that range from simple to complex using your science knowledge and creativity! Ages 11-17.

A ninety-minute course that introduces the student to the basics of the Internet - starting with its origins and then covering the basic components and use of a web browser. The course concludes with an introduction to web searching. Prerequisites: Keyboard and mouse abilities. Registration is required.

The student will leave the class with a basic understanding of how the program works and how to access it on their own from their home pc or by using the library's free computers. 

Miniature Terrariums, 3:30 PM at Elkton Central Library. Create your own micro-garden. We provide the plants, you provide the creativity. For grades 6-12.

NMTC Science Cafe: People, Ticks, & Lyme Disease, 7 PM at Elkton Central Library. Learn about the cause and symptoms of Lyme disease, as well as the additional co-infecting agents that are frequently transmitted by ticks local to Cecil County.
